The Fens are one of Great Britain's unique natural arenas. Opened by Professor David Bellamy in August 2004 Fenscape uses state of the art interactive technology to bring to life the myths and legends, from the marshlands and the Fen Tigers through drainage, opium and tulip fields to modern day horticulture, Fenscape takes you on a journey of discovery that touches every aspect of the ever changing lives of those who live and work in the Fens.

The Landscape story

Interact with the world famous naturalist David Bellamy as he uncovers the secrets of the Fens landscape as only he can.

The Drainage Story

To drain or not to drain ? take part in the medieval debate surrounding the draining of the fens in our specially designed courtroom. Be a part of the jury and cast your vote as to whether you think it should go ahead.

The Fenlander?s Story

Listen to old Martha?s endearing tales of life in the fens. She tells it just the way it was and shows you how to use some of the oddest implements from times gone by.

The Apothecary

Visit the Fenland apothecary under the watchful eye of our giant mosquito and find out about the weird and wonderful cures the Fenfolk used to treat illnesses such as Malaria. Could you match the cure to the illness?

The Faerie Story

Imagine, if you will, a different landscape, a banished world occupying the twilight zone between reality and myth where creeping horrors and dead things come out to do their evil by night...

The Survival Story

Play our giant board game and help the Fens wildlife in its bid for survival against the elements and their predators.

The Greenhouse

Peer into the greenhouse at night and eavesdrop on the tropical debates held by the plans whilst they think we?re all sleeping!

Group bookings in advance can benefit from a special entry rate of £2.00. Out of hours viewing can be arranged if required. Coach drivers FREE. The David Bellamy Community Room, an education and resource facility, is available for pre/post visit activities (subject to availability), please contact Fenscape on .
